On April 18th, 2007 Oliver was released, two days after his Mama was let loose for good behavior.

Grandparents came to the hospital birthing center from the North and South just to witness the great beginning. Unfortunately they could spend no more than fifteen minutes at a time with Oliver, but at least Julia had an audience who got to stare at her for hours on end.

The labor was stressful for the little tyke where his heart rose and dropped faster than the housing market. These were signs of having gotten an infection which immediately put him in Infant ICU. Additionally with extra fluid in his lungs, he was in a respirator which assisted with his breathing. Also, due to the multiple ethnicities instilled in little Oliver, he was confused what color he should be and tried to go yellow first. Fighting his bout with jaundice, he was in an incubator with UV intensive lamps for three days.

Hello World...

At Brooklyn New York Methodist Hospital (Park Slope), on Friday April 13, 2007 at 2:43 PM after 15 hours of labor, Oliver Kai Reyes was finally born into the world via C-Section. He was 21 and 3/4 inches long and weighed 7 lbs and 14 oz.
